What topics will be covered during the TTT?
To start the path of teaching is, in tango, something almost inevitable. Anyone who dances tango, perhaps at some point begins to teach it. Therefore, and being very clear that teaching is itself a profession, we consider it necessary to open a window that shows a clear and safe way to experience tango as a didactic experience.
Vocational training is necessary. The permanent update, too. But given the specific situation of teaching tango dance, it is imperative to state basic principles of the teaching task and offer teaching resources to understand what to teach, when and how, and what NOT to do during the teaching-learning process.
Driving all this is, of course, our unconditional love for Tango.
UNIT 1: THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS
The teaching-learning relationship. The teaching The particular vision of the teacher. Main functions of the teacher. Frequent errors Stages of the class. Methodology. Group dynamics.
The class as a living and changing fact. The planning and the passing of the class. Dynamics and surprises. Know how to be a teacher and know how to be a student.
UNIT 2: THE BEGINNING OF THE ROAD
Teach tango to beginners. What should be clear to the student when finishing the first class.
The subject to teach. Goals. Contents. Methods. Some teaching resources.
UNIT 3: DEVELOPMENT OF THE FUNDAMENTAL CONTENTS – I
Technique. Musicality. Embrace. Movement. Roles Improvisation and creativity, its origin and its limits.
The movement that comes from understanding the essence of tango. “Technical descriptions” and some phrases of the authentic old anonymous milongueros.
How to teach it. How to make it be born and endure. Didactic resources. How to avoid the most common mistakes.
Individual and couple technique. The body itself, the other, the couple. Understanding of space and the space-time relationship. How to accompany the student from the beginning and help him survive tango and dance.
UNIT 4: DEVELOPMENT OF THE FUNDAMENTAL CONTENTS – II
Musicality. How to teach to dance musically from the understanding of the fundamentals of composition and the correspondence and concordance between the sonorous and the kinetic-visual.
What does “musicality to dance tango” mean? What exactly does it consist of? When and how to teach it. Dance criteria and pedagogical criteria.
UNIT 5: TEACHING DANCING TANGO TO CHILDREN
Starting points. The essence of tango, dance, dance, etc., and its different and particular connotation when it comes to children. Elements and factors to be taken into account. Most common mistakes, which can cause physical, emotional, technical damage, etc. How to cultivate creativity and the ability to improvise.
Didactic resources. How to maintain attention. The space of the class. Importance of objects. Adults in the class for children.
UNIT 6: FORM A BALLET OR GROUP WITH CHILDREN AND / OR ADOLESCENTS
The armed group. Factors to consider.
The transition from improvisation or traditional tango to choreography. How to face it. Methodology. Preservation of the essence of tango, and the artistic capacity of the child or adolescent. How to make the teacher’s composition-choreographic approach nests in the soul of the student.

Refund Policy for CITA 2019:
Registration fee -20% if refund request is received by Dec. 15th., 2018 (Buenos Aires time).
Registration fee -50% if refund request is recived after Dec. 16th., 2018 and prior to Jan. 31st. 2019 (Buenos Aires time).
NO refunds requests will be accepted after Jan. 31st., 2019 (Buenos Aires time).
